The Long Beach Auxiliary Police Department, located in the City of Long Beach, NY on the South Shore of Long Island, is an organization composed of civilian volunteers who come from all corners of the community including doctors, lawyers, local business owners, housewives, educators, students and beyond. Our members attend and receive extensive training, conducted by the Nassau County Auxiliary Police Academy, which allows us to provide first class professional services to our community.

Our function is to aid, augment and assist the Long Beach Police Department by providing them with additional eyes and ears, to serve as a visible deterrent and to assist the LBPD whenever called upon. In addition, our Department handles traffic and crowd control for the large variety of year round events held throughout the City of Long Beach.

Membership in the LBAPD affords citizens the opportunity to study police work, learn police objectives and goals and assist the Long Beach Police Department in it’s efforts to serve and protect The City of Long Beach.
