IRISH DAY PARADE & FESTIVAL – – October 2, 2010

four_leaf_cloverThe annual Ancient Order of Hibernians Irish Day and Parade began  at Washington Boulevard at 12:00 noon and proceeded all the way down to the West End where the street fair was held.  There was fun for the entire family with rides and delicious food.  There were many tables selling handmade, eclectic, Irish and one-of-a-kind wares.

The entire length of Beech Street in the trendy West End from New York Boulevard to Connecticut Boulevard was closed for the huge and successful festival.

The Auxiliary Police assisted throughout the day providing traffic control for the Parade, foot and bicycle patrols during the event and assisting LBPD with the closing of the event.

The City of Long Beach Police Department enforces a Zero Tolerance Alcohol Policy on Irish Day.  No open containers of alcohol are allowed in the public and must be consumed at the establishments licensed to sell them or on the private property of drinking-aged adults.

LBAPD Vehicle Detailing – Sunday September 26, 2010

carwashA crack team gathered to detail our vehicles.  This is important as our vehicles are often the first impression that our fine unit makes.  This is usually a quick and fun event that family members (of all ages!) and friends can get involved with!

A tasty lunch was served.
