Historical Society Arts & Crafts Fair - August 23 & 24, 2008

Such a great event that Long Beach has two Arts & Crafts Fairs every summer!

Over two hundred vendors of eclectic crafts, art and food will be lining both sides of the Boardwalk centered at Riverside Boulevard.  The Fair will run from 9:00am to 7:00pm on both days.  It is one of the most successful events on the boardwalk- not only for the community but also for the Long Beach Auxiliary Police.

We had a very successful booth selling delicious food and refreshments.  The booth was operated solely by volunteers consisting of Auxiliary Police, family and friends.  All of the proceeds will go to help support the operations of the Long Beach Auxiliary Police.

Antique Car Show - August 17, 2008

The 17th Annual Vanderbilt Region AACA Antique and Classic Car Show will be held at Kennedy Plaza on August 17th from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

The show is free to all.  These nostalgic autos will be lining the perimeter of Kennedy Plaza.

Great weather led to a nice showing of visitors.  Thanks to the officers who assisted with traffic and pedestrian flow!

GENERAL MEETING - AUGUST 10, 2008

The General Meeting of Long Beach Auxiliary Police Department was very well attended.  Two officers received Meritorious Ribbons for their involvement in the apprehension of four perpetrators of a robbery.  (An article in the Long Beach Herald appeared the following week.)  The meeting ended with a barbecue lunch for all.
